BetaNet Update: Planned Network Restart - Version 2.0.8

We have just upgraded BetaNet relays to v2.0.8; This version contains a protocol upgrade, so you will need to update your node to keep connected.

Since the BetaNet was recently reset, it still going through the upgrading process from initial version to previously-available version.

That would extend the time-frame in which you could upgrade your node until 12/7, 4PM without having your node lagging behind.

Summary of Contained Changes in Upgrade:

  1. Primary Change:
    • Extend upgrade required window from 10k blocks to 140k blocks
      1. The upgrade required window Voting windows will still be 10k blocks long
      2. Note that this window will change only for future upgrades, not this one
  2. Additional Minor Content:
    • Fix to new API calls to ensure omit empty in all returns
      1. ASA decimal precision
      2. A field that specifies how many digits should be after the decimal point for that asset when converting from the base units in the system to the asset’s desired units.
    • Ledger device to algod interface improvement
    • Minor telemetry updates

To update your current version of BetaNet to 2.0.8, run the following goal command:

./update.sh -c beta -i -d <betanet-data-directory> -n
