Is it possible to get ip addresses of transactions on Algorand?

What would be the easiest way to get the IP addresses of transactions on Algorand?

Great question. I think in many cases it may be possible because as far as I know, many cases involve using an API key from a provider, such as PureStake. PureStake requires users enter their email to create an account and I imagine they also collect data regarding users IP addresses. There may be other instances where it is more difficult to get that information, but it’s likely out there somewhere.

So, the easiest way to get that type of data would probably be through PureStake or another centralized access point to the network.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if it is possible to get the IP addresses of rogue nodes sending transactions. It would probably take an expert in networks to sniff out packets propagated on the Algorand network. I was wondering if there was an easier way of doing it. Perhaps the owners of relay nodes could do this easily as well… just a thought. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to chime in!

Relays would know the IPs of whatever nodes randomly connected to them - that’s only way you’d know the IPs - and you’d have to aggregate the data from all relays.
