Node cpu usage is too high

I have just installed node and tested it.
But the cpu usage is too high. It’s over 300% in my mac (2.3 GHz Intel Core i5).

Do you have an idea why the cpu consumption is too high?

It’s high because it’s downloading and processing 500,000+ blocks of the existing chain. Once you catch up it will be very low.
