GP13 DeFi Rewards (TDR) Proposal — Cometa

Algorand is still best place to be and cometa team just expanded. We finally hired a person that fits perfectly and we will develop things much faster since now. Ilya is a new full-stack coder at cometa corporation that will help us to build! As previous TDR plan worked well, we decided to keep some things simply in same pattern:

50% — META pools

Cometa token is deeply integrated within the entire Algorand DeFi ecosystem, offering substantial liquidity across various tokens, which supports any new token introduced.

Our current focus is always ensure stable liquidity, while also continuing to support some outstanding community projects:

  • 12% — META/ALGO Tinyman
  • 8% — META/USDC Tinyman
  • 6% — META/gALGO Tinyman
  • 6% — META/goBTC Tinyman
  • 6% — META/wETH Pact
  • 6% — META/GOLD$ Pact
  • 2% — META/mALGO Pact
  • 2% — META/COOP Pact
  • 2% — META staking

20% — RWA tokens

We still believe that RWA is a great focus of algorand community and that one day people will stop just gambling around and will become more conscious (well, at least hopes are still there). Last time we nailed a great liquidity-providing program to help some real things:

  • GOLD$, SILVER$
  • wBTC, wETH, wAVAX, wSOL, wLINK
  • goBTC, goETH
  • EURS

The rewards will be allocated to all eligible pools over the 90 days following the launch.

  • Each pool will receive a share proportional to the total dollar value of the rewards provided.
  • If the price is unstable, the lowest price during the recent period will be used to calculate the value.
  • If a pool’s duration is less than 90 days, its share will be reduced proportionally.

30% — Expand Algorand

But where? — Farcaster.
Why? — Cross-chain possibilities and development of mini-apps (frames) that will attract L2 users to Algorand.

Farcaster’s main feature is “engage-to-earn.” Users tip each other various tokens for quality content and innovative frames (mini-apps inside users’ tweets). Many L2 chains have joined to support creators and developers with grants (such as OP, Arbitrum, now Polygon as well). This has led to rapid ecosystem growth, with significant attention given to well-developed apps (frames) and high-quality content.

To generate more interest in Algorand from outside, we need to build more powerful apps that encourage usage. We’ve already gained experience in how frames should be built and what libraries and tools are best to use, and we’re happy to share this information with developers if more Algo builders are looking in this direction.

In the coming days, we are launching several frames from our list:

  • $Degen claim on Algorand using Pera Wallet.
  • $Degen cross-chain swap to enable the transfer of $DEGEN from Base to Algo for participation in special Algo events.
  • Algo/Base cross-chain game to attract Farcaster users and promote cross-chain interaction.
  • AI-implemented frames to generate images and mint them into NFT collections.
  • Degen/Algo staking on Cometa frame.
  • Bridge of other native Farcaster/Base tokens to Algorand, allowing users to stake them and create Algo-friendly apps.

We’ve already partnered with several $DEGEN representatives and received a lot of support from Base builders. Now it’s just a matter of fixing bugs and coding to bring these ideas to life and expand the Algofam.

Our current main goal is to easily onboard Algorand users to Farcaster (as it may be a bit complicated initially) and enable them to earn native Farcaster tokens and bridge them to Algo for staking or trading. We also want Base users to install Algo wallets so they can participate in all prepared activities, stake native tokens, and bring more liquidity to Algorand-bridged tokens. Additionally, we aim to get them excited about upcoming frames that the Algorand community is working on.

Once the basic steps are finalized, many developers who have been building on Algorand will be able to jump into Farcaster to create cross-chain apps. They can implement their personal products into casts using Algo wallets (like NFT mints within frames), bridging all the earnings between L2 chains and Algo. That’s the future.

Feedback is much appreciated

If anyone has any comments, we would be glad to hear them!

  1. I don’t see how Farcaster has anything related to the original intentions of TDR.

  2. I don’t believe TDR should just be a way for platforms to incentivize LPs of their own tokens. You are a staking platform, not a DEX. You should be using TDR to incentivize use of your staking platform.

Tbh, I actually don’t see how TDR as a whole helps Algorand DeFi at all. Protocols mostly give money to those who were using their platform anyway. No new users, no new money flows, just wasted money.

With our Farcaster integration we actually get new people to Algorand, they create wallets and use it, and some more AlgoDeFi later in the campaign.

So we “incentivize the use of our platform”. For new Algorand users.

This might be the most refreshingly honest answer I’ve heard from anyone in response to my frequent questions about TDR usage.
