Choice Coin 2025

This is an update for Choice Coin, the first decentralized autonomous network (DAN). Choice Coin was created in 2021, where it was awarded the top prize at the MIT Bitcoin Hackathon. Since then, the project has built world class software systems and fostered global open source innovation. This post provides an overview of what we’ve accomplished, what we’re working on now, and what to expect for the year ahead.
NFL Prediction Market
The team has continued to test various applications for utility on Algorand. Most recently, Choice Coin has experimented with a presidential polling application and prediction market for sporting events. You can test out the NFL Prediction Market on a trial basis now. The remainder of the 2024 year will be focused on continuing product market fit and testing for these applications. One of the great things about currently being based in Nevada is that we are able to test betting or lottery applications without a license under the Nevada Revised Statutes, NRS § 462.105, which allows for testing games by expressly excluding trial services from regulation.
Burns
Choice Coin remains a leader in asset burns, having burned over 75% of the total supply.

With new changes this year on Algorand, Choice Coin has also started using a new burn address according to the ARC-54 standard.

Creating effective mechanisms to incentivize and generate burn transactions will be a keystone focus for the development team moving forward.
Centralized Exchange Listings
We are hopeful that the project experiences strong growth in 2025, such that listings on centralized exchanges may become a real possibility. The main advantage of exchange listings is that they make centralized on-boarding possible, which makes it a lot easier for new users to join the network and participate. Some areas where Choice Coin really excels that give us an advantage with exchange listings are compliance, security, intellectual property, research, and open source software development.
Compliance
One of the most important things for listing on centralized exchanges is that the projects have effective compliance mechanisms in place. Having won grants from both the Solana Foundation and the Algorand Foundation for compliance software development, Choice Coin continues to be a leader in decentralized compliance technology. Security
Choice Coin continues to prioritize network security, having completed both an internal security audit and commissioned an external security audit with the help of the Algorand Foundation and Kudelski Security.
Research
Choice Coin will continue to be a world leader in blockchain research and innovation. The base for this research leverages the edge cryptography of Algorand, Solana, and Ethereum. Choice Coin R&D continues to lead the way in innovation across networks. Much of this research focuses on decentralized governance and voting technologies.
Intellectual Property
In addition to over two dozen software copyrights and open source licenses, Choice Coin will continue prosecution of patents in the United States. Choice Coin has currently made four U.S. patent publications, the prosecution of the underlying inventions will be pursued moving forward, in addition to rights associated with other new technologies.
Open Source Software
Choice Coin is likely still the largest open source software project on the Algorand blockchain, with over 100 global contributors on GitHub. Indeed, the Choice Coin Voting Software Library currently has 77 contributors alone, with contributions ranging from beginner to advanced and award winning software engineers.
Cross Chain Converter
Choice Coin is continuing to build out a cross-chain converter to support further integration and development across Algorand, Solana, and Ethereum. The main focus for the cross-chain converter for 2025 will be on launching the SPL token, and creating Solana and Ethereum token utility.
TEAL 10 Algorand Smart Contracts
We have also been working on blockchain based lottery style games, including a new game called Switch using TEAL 10 which is fully automated with an Algorand smart contract.
