Hello,
During these days I want to start creating / building a node. I wanted to do it through Algorand KIT but I have discarded it due to lack of time. Therefore, I want to choose the option of creating a Delegated Node. I have been reading the information in Staking Rewards have arrived on Algorand and I am between Reti and Valar. Any recommendations and/or experience from anyone?
Thanks community!

I am hosting a pool on reti and it’s quite straight forward for both sides. Reti is completely commission free and pools can easily grow due to sheer number of users that can join them, increasing the rewards for everyone. For Valar on other hand I can’t say much, but the main difference is with valar your algo stays in your wallet, unlike Reti.

Thanks for the information. Well, it’s a pretty important point of difference. You think I’m just starting out in building a node and I have doubts. So, from what you’re saying, with Reti they keep your ALGO, right? If one day the platform dies, your ALGO won’t be able to be recovered, right?

If you would like to do self custody there are two options
- Run your own node
- Use valar p2p service where you can share a node with other node runners who are already running a node (a node can have 4 addresses participating in consensus)

I am using valar currently as i need not take care of infra and other requirements. You will have to pay a fee for sharing a node. You can go through the list and choose the best node. As you have only 30k algo look for a peer who provides the service at a small fee.
