I wanted to start a thread about creating a Coinbase on-ramp for ASAs. I think this is one of the most important differentiators for layer-1s because Coinbase is the premier U.S. Exchange for digital assets. Coinbase currently on-boards both Ethereum ERC-20 tokens and Solana SPL tokens. With the recent addition of USDC support for Algorand, it appears now would be a great time to make a push for having Coinbase support for ASAs more generally.
I think some of the most important considerations are: utility, compliance, governance, intellectual property, and open source software. Having a GitHub with consistent contributions, verified social media accounts, and a formal white paper is also helpful. Other considerations may include, a legal corporate entity, the team, verified email addresses, listing on other exchanges, inclusion on CoinGecko and CMC, and a strong website for the project.
